Our society has experienced an influx of immigrants and low-income students in the urban cities and neighborhoods for the past several decades.  Immigrant parents work to earn a living and have little time to properly get acquainted with resources in their community.  Consequently, immigrant students coming from such humble backgrounds are prone to getting involved in gangs or other illegal activity. Most of this youth have a tremendous potential to be productive and agents that will positively change our society.  That’s why the Enlightened Initiative was created.

The Enlightened Initiative is a week-long leadership summer program that gives low-income immigrant  youth the opportunity to participate in network building activities, improve learning, increase cultural competence, expand science and math knowledge and develop keen communication skills while fostering friendships and ties that would be lasting and beneficial.

You are invited to partner with us in touching the lives of low-income immigrant youth by contributing financially or through the provision of services to the Enlightened Initiative (EI), a 501(c)(3) non-profit.
